    Hi all.
I have a question and I need your help.
I've deployed Windows 2k3 Server, Active Directory on our XYZ.com domain.
When I try to add a domain user to Admins group of a client, I can't see location XYZ.com, so I can't add this new user :(
So what's my problem ? And how to fix it ?
    Thanks in advanced !!!

You want to add a domain user to local admin group?
You need to search on the domain.
The computer must be member of that domain as well.

Thanks for answer. All our workstation were members of XYZ.com domain, and I configured them to use DC's IP as Preferred DNS Server. I can't see domain XYZ.com in location to search.

    What's my problem ?

You use the Computer Managment console.
Then go to local users and groups.
Select your group and then try to add another user or group.
You can select the combo box and view the local computer or the entire directory right?

I think what you are saying is you want to give a domain user local machine admin rights?

If I am understanding you correctly this is the way I do it.

At the client machine Start / control panel / users
Add a new user and type user name and xyz for the domain. Next screen select administrator. Log off and log back on and your done.

Sorry I'm not at a site to supply you screen shots at this time.

Your workstations are running Server 2003?

I can't imagine why but I sure you have your reasons.

In a domain environment I don't think servers have local accounts.
If you give a user account domain admin rights thats the whole enchilada.

All servers have local accounts in a domain environment except the domain controller's.
User intem does not exist on windows w2k or w2k3, only xp have this item.
I am not understanding what is the point here.
    The problem is:

Add domain user do local group?
    OR
Add local group/user to domain group?
