Hi....When I look at my History in Internet Explorer it is huge.....
I don't need to know where I have been.....
Yet I cannot find any option that allows me to set up eliminating the History when I sign off.....

Also I do go to Properties and click on the Clear History tab but when I return to IE....after signing out and even rebooting my History is still there......
Other than right clicking on the particular link and then clicking on delete then clicking on the verification to delete.......what can I do to get rid of this nuisance History log???????
Can I stop it from happening in the first place???

Set Keep History to 0 days, in Internet Options.

If you are using Zone Alarm this thread references your problem with History returning.

Otherwise use CCleaner to get rid of History, etc and start afresh - be sure to check which items under Internet Explorer are checked - you may not wish to clean out some of the items.

Yes, you can stop Windows from recording the history altogether!

    In your registry find:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Internet Settings \ 5.0 \ Cache \ History

Change the value of CachePrefix from Visited to NoVisited

Prior to activating this setting, the history should be cleared manually by going to Tools > Internet Options on Internet Explorer's menu, and clicking the button Clear History.

Setting History to 0 days will still retain History for a 24 hr period.
