windows 2000 server backup tape problems

    Hi everyone , thanks for any help in advance , we have 2 servers 2000, we are using veritas tape backup , we have problems with the software and hardware for the last 2 months , and we want to know if there is a better solution out there for a backup medias , like backing up to SCSI hard drives using a software that will backup to hard drives any help...

    thanks for your time.
    PS. we are just tired changing tapes and dealing with the backup logs and errors

    Backup with tapes is a great method of backing up the data.
    You first must know how many data you need to backup.
    How much you can spend with that solution.
    If you have 1000 GB to be backed up then you need also large media tapes like 400GB each and one great system for the tapes (tape robot).
    I use the Legato Neworker from EMC and i think it is a great solution but is very expensive as well.
    We have a robot with 90 tapes of 400gb each.
    Every month we need to arquive the monthly tapes. the remaining portion is made by the application. :D
