Not that long ago I added a second installation of XP Pro on a separate drive on this computer, and it works perfectly thanks to the help of members here. What I am now wondering is when starting this system and I am given the choice of which operating system I would like to boot to, is it possible to colorize the menu.

As an example this is sort of what I'd want it to look like if it is possible:

Windows XP Professional 1 (to appear in red)

Windows XP Professional 2 (to appear in blue)

Is it possible to get this menu to appear like this using ansi escape sequences or any other way??

I've tried searching on MicroSofts site and through Google but have had no luck.

My guess would have to be No. XP (and all other NT based OSs) use NTLDR & BOOT.INI instead of the files used by DOS-based systems. I don't know how you would enable the functionality to have colour.

I really don't think it is possible, but I'd thought I'd ask..... Back when I was using Win95 and Win98 and even before just using DOS 5.0 etc., I could get many things to show up in color at startup, but have never been able to with Win Me etc.

I just thought I'd see if someone here might know something about this I don't.......
