I have something going on with my system that I've never seen before.

The only change I've made to my system is to install the new windows update and did an update through it.

Since then every time I boot it comes up to windows explorer opened to the system32 directory. If I close it all is fine. My system runs great! Also, win explorer is comming up without the directory tree on the left. If I open win explorer by clicking the tree is there.

Went to start/run to check msconfig to see if win explorer got added to start but when I enter msconfig I get "Can not find msconfig (or one of it's components) ". I did a search of my drive for msconfig and the search returned empty. Nothing found.

Like I said... other than this the system SEEMS to be running fine.

Ya beat me to msconfig... Call it a brain cloud. :D And thanks for the link.

What I'm mostly curious about is what caused windows explorer to start comming up at boot.

With msconfig I found an entry under startup that had nothing but a reg key. Seselected it and no more system32 opening. Now I just have to decide exactly which key it is and delete it.

    Thanks again for the link!
