Unable to access directories

I have Windows XP and have been having a problem with accessing files. If a file is on the desktop, I have no problems clicking on it and opening the file. Once I'm in the program (Word, Windows Media Player, Photostudio, etc) by opening a file on the desktop, I can access all of the files. however, if its in a directory or through the start menu, the computer locks up and Dr. Watson comes up.

Anyone know what's going on? Thanks.

 

U may be infected with spyware..

u can use either one of these programs to scan ur computer and clean it out of all the spyware
