    Hello-All,
I'm becoming interested in podcasting or similiar. I listen to my favorite week end radio shows: Like Leo Laporte on KFI in lax. I'd like to D/L shows and play them. I'm confused as to what I need??? I'm running XP home SP2 with plenty of HD space.
I've looked at total recorder and replay radio, but I'm unclear as to what this software will DO! It seems total recorder needs an MP3 encoder? I have wmp 10 it says it has an MP3 converter, although I don't see it??
Leo says d/l Ipodder, that will handle the entire process?? I don't see that either on their tutorials!! See - the confusion!!!! I don't know what to d/l???
    Won't wmp10 handle this encoding/decoding process?
H ope the "gurus" here can explain what's needed...and How it's implemented...
    Thanks / John in Dallas.

lonestar- i just happened to be passing through and saw your post. i just downloaded a program from apple called i tunes 4.9, which is for people that wish to record podcasts.

after you install the program, on the left is a tab called music store, click on that and then, where it says choose store, click on the word podcasts. there is a tab that says choose all and again, the screen will open and if you scroll here and there, you will find the under tech the show you are looking for.

i just downloaded this program yesterday and have recorded programs from national public radio and the bbc. i have it set to update these shows as new ones are posted.

you do need a high speed always on connection, and although i think it is mainly for people to sync their i pods, i do not own one and just listen to the shows from my laptop.

i listened to the leo laport show today for the first time, although he seems to be on vacation.

let me know how you do and post if you need help.
