Often I am copying files then modifying (enlarging, changing colors, background, etc). When I download an adobe file, how do I modify this? Can I do that in Adobe, or do I open in another program. If so, which one?

    Any help greatly appreciated!!

    Luckyfish:)

PDFs are proprietary format and the only product that I know that can be used is from Adobe called Acrobat Exchange.

Or simply the Adobe Acrobat program (not Adobe Acrobat Reader). Check out the product specs on Acrobat.

    Thanx again! Luckyfish:)

    Nope, sorry :(

You can copy info from a PDF in Acrobat Reader to Word, a text editor, etc... but you won't be able to actually modify the PDF without shelling out some money.

Luckyfish: If you work in higher education you may be able to purchase Acrobat at a reduced price. I bought it for work for $100 (or maybe $50). Its a great program and it allows me to distribute documents that can't be tampered with by the likes of you :D

    Acrobat ePaper

There is a new flavor to acrobat, ePaper.

It allows the author to generate forms and other formats which have fields which other readers can fill in - and save or email the completed form.

This option should be functional in the 2002 IRS forms - (I Can't Wait!)

The form it self can not be modified.

Here's how modifying PDF files is done:
To edit it, copy and paste the document on a word processor software such as Microsoft Word. In order to so, complete the following steps:

    1. Download, save and open the pdf file.

    3. Once the document is opened, choose the "Continuous reading" (Or "Continuous - Facing ") option in the "View" menu, then activate the "Select all" option of the "Edit" menu.

    4. Finally, you can copy the whole text by using the "Copy" option in the Edit Menu and by pasting it in the word processor software of your choice using the function "Paste" (Press Ctrl+v).

To put it back into PDF format, get Win2PDF at http://www.daneprairie.com.

And I thank YOU, Luckyfish, for letting me know I helped you out. It's always nice to get feedback and, hey, I'm not above enjoying a little personal gratification once in a while. :)
