I can receive my email but I can't send, forward, or reply to any. When I try to I get the error:

"Task pop.*****.net-sending reported error (0x800CCC0F): 'The connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues contact your server administrator or ISP'.

1 If it is a problem with my DSL why don't I have any problems with the web? It seems as fast as normal.

2 My Norton says I am clean.

My first guess would be the outgoing mail server was entered incorrectly.

    What version of Outlook?
    Or is it Outlook Express?

    Who is your ISP?

Is the email acount info the same info that came with the DSL connection? Meaning, are you trying to use your work/office email account info at home? (Or the other way around)

You repeatedly receive a prompt for credentials in Outlook 2002 when you log on to the e-mail server

1 I have XP Pro without the service pack and use Outlook, not Outlook Express.
2 I don't see how anything in the outgoing mail server data got changed and why would incoming have no probs?
3 I use Earthlink and have for years
4 The email account is the same for home and work and nothing has been changed on this 'puter since I got it.
5 I don't get a prompt for credentials when I hit send/receive. It says it is sending but then I get the aforementioned error message and the email gets put in the Outbox where they pile up. :(

FYI my problem was solved. Apparently Earthlink changed my outgoing SMPT server without telling me, real nice.
Thanks for all the help :D
