    Hey, I'm new here and am having problems with Ceres and other adware/spyware. I downloaded hijackthis and ran it, here is my log. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello, welcome to the boards!
    The first thing I recommend is getting
    SpywareBlaster, update it and then Enable all the Protections then exit it. You only need to run this when updating and enabling.

    You should uninstall AWS WeatherBug, it is adware.

    Download the trial version of ewido security suite.
    Install ewido security suite and start the program from the icon on your desktop, then check for and download updates. Close for now.
    Ewido Setup

    Then do this in the order I have them.

    Disable System Restore.

    Go to Start\Run, type in Services.Msc and press Enter. Locate this in the list.

    Software Secure Service (SSISvr32) - Unknown owner

    Highlight it, then look to the left and Stop the service, you'll get a small progress window when done correctly. Then right click on it, select Properties, and set to Disable. Close the Services window when done.

    Open HijackThis, and click on 'Open misc tools section', then click on "Delete a file on reboot', a File Open window will appear. Copy/Paste the following into it.

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\ssisvr32.exe

    Then click on Open, and you will be prompted to reboot, select No at this time. Do the same for these.

    C:\WINDOWS\ceres.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\systb.dll

    Rescan with HJT, and remove these items.

    Reboot into Safe Mode.

    Delete this folder.

    C:\Program Files\AWS

    Delete all files and folders located in these folders.

    C:\Windows\Temp
    C:\Documents and Settings\yiprobpat2003\Local Settings\Temp

    Then do the Ewido scan.

    When it is done, reboot into Normal mode, you can enable System Restore. Then post a new log to see if you are clean.

    Alright I got near the end and my computer wouldn't allow me safe mode access. It kept saying incorrect login. Is it necessary to delete those files in safe mode or can it be done in regular mode? Thank you very much for your help.

    It was necessary to do those things in Safe Mode, as windows is not fully running.

    Remove these in HJT, and then run the CWShredder.
