Sending E-mails from hotmail Account

I just noticed what seems to be a problem of sending e-mails from a hotmail account opened in Mozilla 1.75. It just seems to have stopped working. I don't have a problem receiving an e-mail in the account--it is just the outbound mail where there is a problem.
Anybody else notice this?

 

I have not had Hotmail for almost three years. Things changed, of course. I tried to get some info. from the Hotmail site, without subscribing, and came out with very little. One thing is new, but may be not so new. Passport is a big deal. It is my understanding that one cannot get Hotmail without Passport. Otherwise, it may require authentication, the latest way to bother the user without making a dent on Spam.
I have had of all sort of problems with Hotmail, regardless the browser. Is your problem with Hotmail at the website? Is it working with IE?
