I'm not sure if this is in the correct forum....anyways...

I'm trying to record from my TV - more specifically the Video mode for gaming.

However, I've tried a ton of things on my computer. There's all kinds of ports and cables that I just don't understand.

My computer is a Toshiba laptop. It's a satelite that's blue and comes with Window's XP media edition - I dunno if that helps you figure out which computer it actually is

I have the software to record, but I don't know how to connect it.

I tried looking at the manual and stuff, but it doesn't tell. However, I know for a fact that this can record from a TV. It even has a remote for it

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum

Once you find the model and let us know I may be able to give some advice on this as my desk system is setup for input/output from/to my entertainment center.

Once ya get it going I think you will probably like it. I know I do! I put a tape in my vcr, capture it to my computer and burn it to DVD.

One note: To do this well you will need one heck of a machine. My 1gig Athalon and ATI 9200 just barely do it and the quality isn't the best when playing back on my entertainment center. For anyone doing this or thinking of, I would recommend a video card along the lines of an ATI Radeon 9800. Not saying that particular card but one with those kinds of capabilities.
