Hi, I'm new here so thanks for taking the time to look at this.
The last few days I've had a proble with my pc. After around 9.30pm, I find that if I'm typing in a text box (eg, forum or google ect.), when I press my 'i' key, strange things happen. my scroll lock turns on, randon characters type, ms outlook opens, along with my computer and other things.
If I use windows washer to clean out my files, the problem stops, until the next day.
I've tried virus scan (uptodate mcafee) and spyware software (spyware doctor, Adwatch and adaware), but to no avail. Anyone got any ideas?
I'll post my log file from hijack this in the relevent forum if this helps.
    many thanks,
    Paul

If you think this is a virus issue..........

If you really do think this is a virus issue then I'd reboot with a "recovery" set of your Anti-virus disks and without loading the OS do a complete scan...

If you find nothing then I'd look to remove all your Spyware software BUT Spyware Doctor just to elminate any conflicts with other spyware utils you seem to be running as well. You really only need one....next I might consider using a toold like Registry Mechanic (from www.pctools.com - makers of Spware Doctor) and see how your registry is doing.......

I do have to ask...why always after 9:30 p.m.....do you have something running in the background at that time that launches and hijacks your computer ?

Look in Task Manager or Applications at say 6:0 p.m. and record what is there and then when this happens look again in Task Manager or Applications and see if something "new" has appeared........

Ctrl-Alt-Del in Win2k and XP will bring this up....you never did mention what OS you are using....... :)

    Just some thoughts.....

thanks for your reply. Sorry, using win xp pro with service pack 2. Will try seeing if any other apps are running before and after the time this starts. I found that a couple of spy/adware progs came up with different results.
