My OS is Win 98SE and am using Netscape 4.79. I put a shortcut for Google Search and Websters Dictionary on my toolbar. When I highlight a word or phrase and click on either of the above it open a window[closing the one I am using] and goes to the new site. If I click on a link within a site I have open it opens a new seperate page, this is how I want the Google Search or Webster site to act. Is there anyway? I can always go back but at times I would like to have both sites available. Have no firewalls or proxies set up or ad stoppers. Any help????? Thanks:)

    Hi quickshot,

    One workaround would be:

    highlight word or phrase
right click word or phrase and select "copy "
Ctrl + N (open new page)
click on Google or Websters Dictionary
    right click appropriate blank
    select "paste "

This way you will have both windows open and can Alt + tab or Ctrl + tab between the two, or more, windows that are open.

I just tested this by adding Webster's Dictionary to my Personal Toolbar. Highlighted a word in your post, Ctrl + N, in the new page clicked on Webster's Dictionary, pasted the word in the blank.

I also had Messenger open, and I was able to Alt and Ctrl + tab between the three open windows!

Ramona, Thanks for the reply--will try your way, I was just hoping there was a setting I was missing and it would open in a new page like the links. Thanks,;) Quickshot
