I recently uninstalled sp2 due to a number of problems. In the process, my video drivers were lost. When I tried to reinstall, the installer told me I had to install my monitor drivers first. the monitor drivers won't install either, and my device manager shows no catagory for a monitor. I removed the video card and connected my monitor to the onboard video connection on my mobo. no change. New hardware wizard doesn't find it. How do I get my system to recognize my monitor so I can install the drivers?

Thanks for your response, Mc Tavish. Yes, it's a radeon. I just downloaded the driver, but will it work if windows doesn't recognize my monitor?

I just tried to install the Catalyst drivers, The process was interrupted with the following: "Setup was unable to complete the installation. Try to set up your display adapter with a standard vga driver before running setup ". I'm stumped!

After several hours of clicking around, I discovered that some of my mobo drivers also needed to be reinstalled. once that was done, windows recognized my monitor, and I was able to proceed. Thank you for your help. :D
