Appearance Schemes

    Where oh where does Windows 98SE store the saved Appearance Schemes on the HD? I created a couple of Schemes but when doing a "Find ", seven different ways from Sunday, nothing appears? The Schemes are of course listed in the Scheme drop down menu...

    That's the first place I looked. This is not Themes, but "Schemes" which I have created myself in the Appearance section of the Display options in Control Panel.

    FWIW, I learned on another Forum from user beanboy, that the Schemes are only available via the Registry:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Appearance
    HKEY_USERS\DEFAULT\Control Panel\Appearance

    So if you wish to backup Schemes which you have created, then you have to backup the above Registry Keys.
