Just installed genealogy program "Legacy ". The desktop icon links correctly to legacy.exe, but when double clicked, a dialog box called "Windows Installer" flashes up on the screen briefly, then is followed by another dialog box headed "AutoCAD LT 2002" and an error message that says "The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available. Insert the "AutoCAD LT 2002" disk and click OK." If I close down the dialog boxes, Legacy starts up and operates perfectly.

AutoCAD LT has been on my laptop for years and works OK also. I can find no file extensions in Legacy that also appear in AutoCAD LT, and have no idea what would prompt the WIndows Installer dialog box to appear.

All other applications, including the antivirus (McAfee) were shut down before installing Legacy.

Grateful for any suggestions to stop this annoying behaviour.

Sounds like a file or library (DLL) file has gotten crosslinked or the "Legacy" program you installed, copied an older version of a shared file onto your PC that CAD uses.

First try re-installing CAD with "Legacy" still on your PC. IF installing it over the top of itself doesnt work, try removing CAD and re-installng it from scratch. But make sure "Legacy is still on your PC when you do it.
