    hello all

Wierd title eh? :D but whenever i start up my PC now i get 2 messages. The first 1 is the uninstallation wizard of the Samsung Bluetooth software, however,it then comes up with a box asking for the cd-rom so i can cancel it.The second message is the Norton antivirus uninstalling, but thankfully another box comes up saying Norton Antivirus cannot be uninstalled and to do it manually.
Another problem is I cannot open or close any program as soon as my PC boots up for around 5minutes as if i try closing them down they just crash, and if i try opening they just take a long long time to open!

I've been trying to think what has caused it and the only thing i can think of atm is the installation of Mircosofts latest patches.I've tried doing antivirus scan but it finds nothing

This is the third post like this where MS patches seems to either cause problems of aggravates existing problems.

Read thru these threads and proceed with some caution.

If you're going to use SR, make sure it works. You can use the Add/Remove entries for MS patches w/o using SR, just makes it cleaner.

If you don't have confidence in SR, a way to test the restore function:

Create a manual restore point, then take any executable file ( extention .exe) , and burn it out and/or move it to the My Documents folder and delete it from it's original location. SR does not monitor files in My Documents folder regardless of file type.

Then restore to the initial restore point created by you, the deleted executable should be back in it's original location. Afterwards, you can delete the copy in My Documents.

    Regards - Charles
