Hey, there. I have a question, and I was wondering if any of you would be able to help. I have searched online, on the symantec website, the microsoft knowledge base online, and a few other websites.

My norton antivirus for exchange server (outlook 2000, exchange server 5.5, I think) keeps blocking a file called "tfxfrm32.exe ", and I can't figure out what this file is, what generates it, if it's a bad file, or a necessary file.

Has anyone heard of this file, and knows what it is?

    Thanks a million!!!

    ~Kathie

Is it being blocked on incoming mail? If so, who is the mail comming from?

Does your system block all .exe files?

Yes, the reason why it is being blocked is that it is blocking all incoming .exe files. But this one appears over and over, usually when someone opens outlook for the first time on their computer. So I am wondering if it is some necessary file.

The exact e-mail I receive from Norton is:

Sender of the infected attachment: Unknown Sender
Recipient of the infected attachment: Unknown
    Subject of the message: Unknown
One or more attachments were quarantined.
Attachment tfxfrm32.exe was Quarantined for the following reasons:
    Virus UNAUTHORIZED FILE was found.

"But this one appears over and over, usually when someone opens outlook for the first time on their computer" -> And when Norton places the file in quarantine I'm betting their pc's still run fine.....

It's probably some type of setup file that Outlook runs. I couldn't find it on my pc or the internet. I wouldn't worry about it.

Thank you so much! I would have never thought it would be part of our voicemail system... but it makes sense.

    I appreciate all your help!
