I have an old EMC Multisystems monitor and cannot seem to locate a driver on line. Is there anyone out there that has such a monitor or maybe the driver for it? Data on monitor:

    EMC MULTISYSTEMS
    FDEU8338547U

    Product # MF550
    Mfg Date: March 1998
    Model # 550D

    FCC ID: IJEMD-848DD

Any help would be greately appreciated. Please post or e-mail me. Thanks!

Does the monitor not work well without the drivers.

I've switched out all sorts of monitors with all sorts of computers and have never installed a driver for them.

You can probably just set it up as default or PnP monitor from the monitor list if you do an update driver on it or you can go to Driver's Guide and probably find the actual inf file for it.

Yes, it works ok. But I think it would work better if I could find a driver. It's work a shot to try.

I don't want it bad enough to pay for it. The monitor is too old to do that.

There is one listed at driverguide:
www.driverguide.com (requires free registration, but you can still use User: Drivers; Password: All)

    Hope it works for you.

Thanks mattman, I gave driverguide a try. They had an EMC but not EMC Multisystems. I tried but my model, product, etc. numbers did not get any hits. I even tried a FCC ID search. No luck!

Oh, I forgot, I did find a PnP driver on my 98 disk that gives me better resolution.

There is a driver for a MF550/550D which I would guess is just about what you want.
When you are logged in to Driverguide go to this address:
    http://members.driverguide.com/index.php?action=dosearch&qm0=550d&qa5=11&sm=s

One of the other hits is probably the PnP drivers you found (the ones you have installed now) and may actually be the best.

If you have problems, go into Safe Mode, go to Device Manager and "remove" anything listed for Monitor. You will then need to install the best drivers when you reboot (Windows may decide that the PnP drivers are the best and install those automatically).

    Matt

    Well...we tried.

I downloaded and tried the driver. Yuck!! Everything shrinks to nothing and thata in the lowest resolution. Turns out that the PnP standard driver is the best choice. My thanks to everyone that helped me out. So until the next crisis...by,by.
