    Hi;

    I have a problem, I have a windows media center pc and it was working until a couple of days. What happened is that i had a virus and decided to reinstall everything on the pc. After doing this my wireless connection stopped working ( it was working before but i had installed all updates from Microsoft). I have a Netgear wgr614 wireless router and a d-link dwl-g122 USB adapter.
    The problem is that I am able to connect to a wireless router which belongs to my neighbor, but when I try to connect to my router I get the "limited or no connectivity" error. The following is what I’m using to connect in the D-link configuration utility.

    SSID (name of my network)
    Wireless Mode = Infrastructure
    Data Encryption = Enabled
    Authentication = Open
    Key lenght = 64 bits(40+24) - 10 Hexademial
    IEEE802.1X = Disable

    I have disabled the windows firewall

    Like I said I’m able to connect to the neighbor router, which is open to anybody, but mine has a password and I can't get any updates from microsoft because the speed of my neighbor is slowwwwwwwwwww and mine just doesn't work. What can I do? I have been trying to connect for 2 days. I have read that removing dsome fixes from microsft might help, but my computer came with windows media center 2005 and I’m assuming is has sp2 built in so I can’t remove it.

    Please remember that i have been able to access the internet through my neighbor connection, but it is so slow that i cannot browse for too long or even try to update the os.

    Can someone help?

    Thank you for your time

    Eugenio

    Limited or not connectivity under Windows Media Center ???

    PeteC;

    Thanks for replying. I have done what those 2 webpages indicated and still haven't been able to connect. I forgot to add that i also have a apple laptop that can connect wirelessly and a desktop that can connect using a cable. This is what is making me think the problem is on my pc isntead of the reuter. All other pcs are able to connect but the one with the problem doesn't. Any other suggestions?

    Thanks

    No further suggestions on my part - networking is outside my experience, but you are in the right forum for when our networking specialists come on line.
