    hi there all,
I would like to know if there is any difference in disabling my AV if I do it by stopping it from loading at startup (using Startup Cop)
or as Power Quest Drive Image 2002 recomends to do it in the BIOS.
    Any idea about that??

For Drive Image you should make sure it's disabled in the bios. The antivirus in the bios and the program you use in windows are two completely different things. The one in the bios is built in to the motherboard (so to speak) and the one in windows is not effected by the setting in the bios. Your windows antivirus program shouldn't have to be disabled in order to run drive image as drive image runs in dos. Therefore, no windows programs are loaded and there is no need to diable any of them.

It would recommend you do disable it in BIOS as the one in BIOS prevents writing to the MBR of your hard drive.

    disable AV

    thank you Zander and markp62,
Zander, or markp62, have you used Drive Image 2002 successfully?? I have been trying but so far without success, but that might be because I have not disabled AV in the BIOS don't know.
My problem is the Image of my HD takes 3 disks CD-R-RW the first and the third disk are fine, but the second one the burner goes through it's motions just as it is burning but at the end there is no data on the disk. I did read in the help files that this sort of problems no read or no write at certain points on the HD can happen if you do not disable AV.
And up until now I did only disable my AV in Windows
(Startup Cop) do you think I would have more success the other way?? :p
    thanks guys
