OE and IE Updated Automatically With XP?

    I have all of the MS updates and hot fixes installed on my Windows XP Home. I have always assumed that IE and OE were automatically updated during the XP updates.

    My Belarc 7.0 information shows SP2 installed on IE but does not mention OE. I looked at the MS update site and searched this BB but didn't find anything specific. Is my assumption stated above correct?

    Each of the three programs you mentioned "can" have their own Service Pack update(s).

    When I go to Help->About OE I see:

    6.00.2900.2180 (xpsp_2_rtm.040803-2158)

    Thanks for the input Steve. My OE reads exactly the same as yours so it appears to be updating along with XP. Thanks.

    I understand you have set Control Panel|Security Center|Automatic Updates set to ON. If correct, your assumption is correct. Updates for IE and OE are included in Windows Updates.
    Just last week MS announced the Microsoft Updates
    site
    http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/muoptdefault.aspx?ln=en-us
    If you have Microsoft programs other than Windows installed (like Office) this site will also offer updates for those programs as well as Windows Updates.
