    Hello,

I'm misplaced the cd for Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 2.0 and need to install the software on my new XP laptop. I downloaded this from Microsoft and changed the settings via "Mouse" from the Control Panel, but it still acts eradically. Also, it appears that I've downloaded 2 of the same software for a couple of drivers/files. How can I delete the dups and why will the new mouse not function property?

    Thanks...........

Do you have "good line of sight" to the receiver?

If it's also an optical mouse, you might try a white sheet of paper underneath it. Optical mice don't like certain color desks...

First - change the wireless connection channel by pressing the button on the bottom of the mouse.

If that doesn't solve the problem try ...

Reconnecting the mouse to the receiver .....

Press the button on top of the receiver - the receiver lights blink to indicate it is connected,

Press the button on the bottom of the mouse. You may have to wait a few seconds for the mouse to work.

The above instructions from the MS handbook for the (old) wireless mouse, not 2.0, but it should be the same I guess.

You're welcome :) - had the same problem myself recently.
If you've downloaded twice, no matter - if you installed twice first install probably overwritten.
