    Hi all,
In the file explorer, if I click on a folder in the right hand pane, it opens my ACDSee, rather than expanding the folder. No problem if I open the folders via the left panel. How do I stop this odd behaviour?

Thanks for the update so others can benefit from your experience.

FYI, This malady is most often caused by opening Explorer or My Computer and clicking on the Tools > Folder Options > File Types > selecting "Folder" and then clicking OK instead of Cancel. Even though you have only looked and made no changes, changes will nevertheless be made IF you have selected Folder or File Folder and IF you then click OK. To avoid this, always click "Cancel" when you don't intend to change things.

You can fix the problem manually by navigating to the Path mentioned above and changing the default setting to "None." As an alternate, you can also fix the problem by editing the Registry Keys.

It's much simpler to use the download that Doug supplies though. :D

And thank you for going the step further and explaining the cause, which will help preventing this from happening again.
