now this is weird like the title says the ns 801 plays launch radio very good, might not support it but it plays good not a bit of trouble, no errors just started playing and it wasnt my default browser, explorer was. so this must be a firefox/deer park thingie. oh well! dont know if this should be post script to my last post or what, didnt mean to break rules. thanks i'm still  and confusing

    Jan,
I have been trying to play, either videos, audio, clips, you name it, and, not once it did anything straight. I, even, had it play like IE, giving complete trust, including opening requested popups. And, I got a variety of responses, but the crowning one was, displaying like Internet Explorer.
    Error
Sorry, we do not support Netscape on the Windows platform.

It is not a Firefox or Deer Park thing, but rather a Yahoo thing.
How did you get anything to work? It, definitely, requires to allow popups, but after that I don't have a clue. I was interested in Y!Music for its cheaper downloads, but it does not see to be worth the effort.

as i write this im listening to launch radio with ns801 (of course the title bar says that im doing this on the explorer?? am i supposed to have two browsers open? i just went to launch first with the explorer closed it and got the 801 and no problem now how i do it ... i have no idea (maybe because i never let any browser except the explorer be default) the 801 just dont want to let go of being default. launch might not support netscape on the windows platform but it plays it and it sounds good too. :) still  and confusing

I don't understand this. It sounds contradictory. If 8.01 does not want to let go of default, it means that you let it become default, but if Launch opens in IE, it means that you are using IE.

like i said westside im  and confusing, i dont mean to be and i try not to be but... when i did let the 801 be the default it didnt want to let and the explorer did not ask like it was supposed (so perhaps that was an explorer fault) and i would have to shut down to get things back to normal, for me at least, with the explorer as default. its difficult to go to microsoft with another browser than the ie, and i spend a lot of time there.

the launch didnt open in ie, the reason i said that was to see if i would come up with the same error as you did when you tried the ie, i didnt everything was fine. i closed down the ie started the 801 and went to launch and worked fine. when i posted that message the 801 was playing launch(very nicely too) and i was posting the message with the ie. i had both browsers working. sorry again for the confusion

    Jan,
I am, still, not sure that we are talking about the the same thing, but, after spending too much time on this issue, I revisited, and I got the Yahoo site to do something. I had not noticed before that, although I have two entry with launch.yahoo.com, and the IE rendering machine is selected, a number of sites actually use: http://music.yahoo.com And that opens as Firefox. I did change to rendering with IE, and I was a very painful video (not the contents, but the poor quality and the fact that the video lost at least ten seconds of music).
I can't figure out yahoo site, and I am interested in pursuing this. It is just confusing, and I get no hint if the problem is due to the setting, and what setting.
But, I did all my tests with NS8.01. I was just fiddling around with the site controls' rendering machine. So, if you tried to repeat my error by actually opening IE, you would not get it. As for what you were playing, you could give a link, but it does not matter, since Yahoo will change websites, with no warning and, unless you keep your eyes wide open, it is not going to work in NS8.01. The important thing is to select View|Rendering Engine.
In your cases, I am not quite sure what you did.
