OK, so maybe not the best title, but the basic snag is that when I try to edit home video, it s choppy, and when I check performance the average disk queue length is over 100%. So far I haven't found any setting changes that improve the situation. Any ideas?
Compaq R3210CA laptop, Sony Handicam, XP Movie Maker.
    Thanks!

How much memory is installed? It has been my experience the more memory you have when editing video the better off you are.
