When I attempt to compose a message using the Comcast mail system, I get an error message that tells me there is something wrong with IE 6.0 and asks for an error report which when executed returns to the desktop---any ideas as to what could be happening?---thanks for your thoughts, Marion McCaleb

When I got the IE error message described above, I got the following information:

The following files will be included in the error report:

    C:\DOCUME~1\owner\LOCALS~\temp\WER1C.tmp.dir00\appcompat.txt

Does this mean anything to anyone out therre?---thanks for your help, Marion McCaleb

Post the contents of app compat.txt - it may contain a clue or two.

If you are running XP ....

Right click My Computer > Manage > Event Viewer > Application and look for an error message (flagged with a ! or red spot with an X) relating to the problem . Double click on the error message to open, click on the icon below the up/down arrows to copy to clipboard and paste in a post here. Check out System too.

I got back to Tucson to work on my daughter's computer this afternoon---when I left last week I was in a hurry and forgot about the SYTEM RESTORE function of XP (blush)---that fixed the problem I was having---thanks PeteC for your suggestions---really appreciate it---Marion McCaleb
