Second Power Supply??

    Hi, How can I add second power supply to my computer?

    If your current PSU is inadequate you should think in terms of replacing it with one having a greater capacity. 400W PSU's are not uncommon these days.

    You can chech out your power requirements here - note the figure you arrive at assumes that everything is running simultaneously - unlikely :)

    While it is possible to run two power supplies on a computer I would advise against it. If you need more power it is much more advisable to just get a bigger supply. It isn't a matter of just plugging in a different supply. You will need other circuitry to make sure they come on at exactly the same time or in the right order. I believe that you would also have to add some sort of regulator to make sure one supply isn't being overtaxed while the other is just idleing. By the time you put this all together it will be cheaper in time and possibly in cost to just put in a bigger supply.
