Formating my Hard drive

    I have to format a hard drive and then load in windows98 se. I have been told I need to create some sort of recovery disk in order to do this. Can someone please help me with this question by writing down some step by step instructions. I have never done anything like this before so please be very clear.

    Highly recommend you get an experienced friend to assist...

    Do you have a Win98 cd and or a "recovery" cd that came with the pc? You generally don't need both.

    You do need all the driver files for your hardware that "should" have come with the pc.

    Have you backed up all your important files, address books and emails?

    Gianni - I used your linked method with great results and thanks. Very easy and straightforward. That's a keeper. :)
    BTW, I'm a dunce at DOS but that made it do-able.
