Desktop Icon Problems...

A friend gave me is system to fix. The problem is none of the desktop icons work when he double clicks on them. I tried the fix that was posted here awhile back (fixlink.reg) and it did not work. The icons in the quick launch DO work, only those on the desktop don't. I checked his system for viruses and spyware and that shows a clean system. I would try a reg restore, but he waited over 2 weeks before he contacted me. I also tried scanreg /fix & scanreg /opt and still did not work.

Aloso, double clicking on ANY file will NOT work as well...

Anyone got any other ideas I can try??? His system is a Compaq Presario 2200 that he picked up at a yard sale and it came with none of the disk...

 

Never mind...wife had an idea... Checked the mouse properties in the control panal and found out the double click was maxed. Set it to 50% and now it works...
