Collected.5.L......post cleanup log

I tried with RegSeeker but there are always those 26 items, even if, under each voice, it says "file or path does not exist ".
I downloaded Spybot 1.4.
I tried to connect to Windows Update but there are some problems with the connection. It says to wait cause it's looking for the latest version of Windows update but nothing happens for several minutes. Anyway, some times ago, I downloaded many security updates from there except for Service Pack 2 cause it gave me a lot of problems especially with my ADSL connection.
I deleted yesterday the WhenU folder and VVSNI... file, but today they were still present. Anyway I deleted them once more.

Empty the recycle bin. Let me know if either of those items comes back at anytime.

If you fixed those entries with RegSeeker, open the RegSeeker folder, then the backup folder. Locate the latest scan file and right click>edit. It will open in notepad. Copy the contents and post it here.

Since you haven't applied SP2, I recommend you install a firewall.

I strongly suggest you continue trying to get the Windows Updates, and install SP2. There's a good possibility the trouble you had before was due to malware. If it does cause conflicts, you can start a thread in the XP forum and the good folks here will try to help.

Do you still have Corel installed? Use it?

 

Yes I do have corel draw and some other applications

 

My recommendation is to scan again and with only those 26 entries found, select all, right click and add to exclusions list. They won't be found again. I'm guessing they shouldn't be found and are being recreated or protected from deletion.
