Thanks. I was not sure where to post and secuity seemed the first stop. My comp is running a little slower than usual, I do regular scans with ad aware & Spybot search n destroy. I'm just not sure if there is spyware I'm not cvleaning out. When I switch between users on my comp, it's extremely slow to load and switch. Also when my wife uses her "user" it runs much slower than mine? lastly, when I switch users it goes to a black screen while it switches user, kinda weird looking. Just trying to learn more as I go.

Have you done house-cleaning yet......eg; empty temps, TIFs (temporary internet files), run disk cleanup? Installed anything new......software, hardware? Might be a good idea to post a HJT log created while on the other account too, since it's running slower.

BTW, HijackThis is in a temp folder and still not unzipped. You should create a new folder in C: named HJT and extract HijackThis.exe to thet folder. Better do that before emptying TIFs, since that's where it's currently located. Alternatively, you can download HijackThis.exe and save it to the new folder, letting the other be emptied out with the TIFs.

 

Most of the symptoms you have posted are typical of using Fast User Switching, versus logging off and then logging in as a different user. Did you just recently started doing this?
The use of Fast User causes the previous user to be still available in memory, taking away some of your computer power. Switching between the two will produce a momentary black or blank screen, as the video display is switched. It doesn't matter that you both use the same screen resolution, refresh rate, or desktop image, it will happen.
