Where has [the connection] icon gone?

    Hi Guys, just moved back to Uk from Italy - put in new email etc and now the computer screen icon, showing on or off line (near the clock,) doesn't show up anynore how can I get it back???

    rt click My Network Places/ select properties
    rt click your connection/select properties
    put check in box next to 'show icon in notification area when connected'
