I use Microsoft Publisher for a local newsletter. I wanted to insert a pdf file that was 206kb to a page so I inserted it as an object. The pub doc was 336kb before inserting the pdf file but inflated to 3.6 MB afterwords. How can a file that is only 206kb make my publication expand so much?

    mojo13,

I don't have an answer as to why inserting objects into a file creates such a monster, but as an alternative, use the Select Text tool in Adobe Reader to outline the area of the pdf document you wish to insert. After making the selection, copy within Adobe. You "should" be able to paste the image into Publisher directly with a smaller file size than you are currently experiencing.

I don't have a copy of Publisher available at this time to test with, but it works in Word, and I have a vague memory of doing this in Publisher in the past.

    Good luck,
    Steph
