    I have a Cisco 2620.

It is not holding the config when it is powered off.

Anyone have any ideas what might be wrong?

If memory serves me rightly, you have to save the config to the flash memory. IOS is held in two places, the live area and a background flash area. On power down it is the copy from the flash area that is loaded. Any changes in the live memory space that weren't commited to flash will be lost on reboot.

However, it's been a long time since I played with a Cisco router. I'd suggest you look through the Cisco website. If you have trouble finding information specific to your router, try searching for IOS information.

If your committing changes to flash but they are lost on reboot, you may have a hardware fault. Again, Cisco site to sort that too. There is a load of information there (though can be hard to find).
