I read a post earlier on how to create a Windows XP install CD and slipstream SP2 into the CD. Now thats well and cool. However, is there a way to take all the current updates I have for windows and put them on a CD? Or possibly even slipstream them onto the install disc in the same manner? I really just hate having to download those updates every single time i format, there must be a way to access them, and save them onto a CD, that way right after I format, I can just install them one after the other.

    Thanks for readin
    Dan

Well I realize that will take me to the windows update page, but of course my box at the moment is fully updated so it won't allow me to download them again, at least I can't see where.

My query is that I want to take all those updates and slap them on a CD, shouldn't windows have them saved somewhere in a directory or are they deleted after install. And if they are deleted, how do you go about getting all the updates you need and saving them onto a CD?

That link I posted takes you to the Windows Update Catalogue from which you can download updates to disk, regardless of whether they are installed on your box or not.

This utility will allow you to create an xp install cd (bootable) with service packs, hotfixes and also allow you to remove the windows apps and services that you will never need or want:
