    Long time no post...

For some reason my HTML icons, for saved HTML files on my computer, don't show my Firefox icon, the program I have them associated with. I have tried setting it to open with a different program and that doesnt change the icon either. I have also tried to change the associations from the Tools-Folder Options-File Type to no avail. Any ideas?

"change the associations from the Tools-Folder Options-File Type to no avail"

Did you try the change icon while you were in there? You might have to browse to FireF's folder...

Yeah. Even when I browse to the Firefox's folder and select the .exe the icon doesn't come back. I didn't see anything to change the icon directly.

Perhaps it is assigned to whatever you have designated as your "Default" browser??

You can always create a Shortcut to it and change the Icon on that to anything you like.

Firefox is my default browser, and the HTML files open with FF, just no icon. See the pic below, might help clear things up a bit.

Are you saying when you go to My Computer > Tools > Folder Options > File Types > scroll to HTML > Advanced > you don't have the 'Change Icon" button? Or if you do, it doesn't allow any changes regardless of what source you browse to?

I don't get an Advanced tab under HTML.

edit- If I click restore on the HTML association, I get the Advanced tab and I am able to change the icon, but even selecting the correct one doesn't work.

Try changing back to the IE Browser and see if things clear up or that you are able to then change the icon.

Also consider that you may have some Anti-HiJack Security program that is protecting you from changing icons or other settings.

That was the first thing I tried and it didn't work.
