same widows update installing

    hi
    every time i start my computer I am getting the same update installing and being asked to restart my computer. It is KB890859. Any way to stop this please?

    hi
    i get a message that the specified file is not a registry script and i can only import binary registry files from within the registry editor.

    I tested it and I see what you mean. Apparently it has been the victim of a slight editing error and instead of being a .reg file should have been catalogued as a .vbs file. Change the extension to .vbs and run the file. You will get the standard warning about security but you can authorize it to run since we know the source is reliable, in spite of the error.

    I'll notify Kelly since this is the first time I have noticed any problem with any of her downloads.

    that worked thanks but i had to do the following which may help others. The first step is to make the file extension visible. Open a folder, go to View, Folder Options, click the View tab, uncheck the Hide File Extensions For Known File Types box, and click OK. Then you can change a file extension by right-clicking on it, selecting Rename, and changing the three letters of the file name that come after the dot.

    spoke too soon. yes it installed but I am still getting the update appearing
