Is this website using third party cookies.
I am trying to understand why, I never log out this site, and I have it set up in NS7.2, Moz1.7.8, you name it. If I ever return it has no information about me. As if everything is wiped out. I don't mind entering the password, but why would the username disappear, ever with a checkmark to remember me.
My preferences differ in different browsers, but the results are uniform with this website. I don't accept third part from a site which collects them without me being aware. Other than that, I accept anything.
Never mind, paranoia attack is over. It just is a nuisance.

    Feedback site in NS8

I don't know if there has been an answer, but I recall that someone was wondering what happened to the Feedback button which was in 8 beta, but no longer in the final version. Since, I am still not so sure about 8.0 or 8.01, I have kept beta in a separate folder, with a different profile, of course. And, the discussion going on is still going on, in spite of the lack of buttons. This is website which I got.

Whenever this has happened to me while using Firefox, I've gone into Cookies | Exceptions ... and manually added the address of the site, setting it for Allow

You can enter the full address or just the name of the site itself ... ie: msn.com

Once you put the address in, after that the site should recognize you.

I had a tech support person at my bank site tell me that some sites don't set cookies, even when you tell it to remember you.

My browser (FF) behaves this way because I have it set to accept all (non-third party) cookies and delete them when I close the browser. For sites that I visit frequently and want to login automatically, I have set the browser to make an exeception (don't delete those sites' cookies when I close the browser).

Might your browser also be deleting cookies at the end of the session?

Just to disprove me, it is working now, in FF1.04, at least. No, it should have not been deleting cookies. With FF there is always the outside chance that cookies are blocked by Spyware Blaster, but this is not true with Mozilla. I give up!

    Westside,

I think it's a cookie thing with you, as you've had this problem before. Just don't log out, and any settings you have to clear cookies on exit for this site should be disabled...

Ramona, I never log out, and this is happening only with WindowsBSS. I am set to keep cookies for 3 days in Netscape or Mozilla, and until they expire in NS8 and Firefox. I can understand that there is weirdness with NS8, but not the older programs. And, I have the check mark to remember me. Maybe I misunderstood the meaning of the checkmark, but every time everything is wiped clean. I enter username and bookmark, and it remembers me. I cannot understand why my username is always wiped out.

    Westside,

Then perhaps your cookie for this site is corrupt? Have you tried deleting the cookie, and trying again?

Or perhaps the password is corrupt? Delete the password and try again?

I'm sorry you're having such a problem with this site!

Ramona, all is well in moz1.7.8. I had done a complete clean up as you were suggesting, and I am ok. Now, on to the other browsers.

Ah, that is good to hear, and hope you have the same success with your other browsers.

Of course, if all fixes would be as easy as this, there would be little need for tech support. Just gripe and it is fixed. I always worked with Netscape7.2, then Mozilla1.7.8 lost its mind, followed closely by the Firefoxes (or foxes chasing deer in the park; Ramona knows what I am talking about).
