New Emails disappeared from Inbox

    I had many new emails in the inbox , the computer lost power while Outlook Express was open , after restoring electricity all those emails (350) disappeared & I don't know where to find them or from where to restore them since they were delete from the mail server , I would be more the thankfull for advice/help.

    If you have all the mail that was there from before the crash, I think your out of luck.

    But, in Win2k and XP the mail files will be found here:

    C:\Documents and Settings\Your User Name\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{6EA4EFE3-FB78-41D9-B157-AC95B9108256}\Microsoft\Outlook Express

    Check to see if you have more than one InBox.DBX file.

    You might have one called something like 1InBox.dbx..

    Steve, for OE, don't you mean dbx files?

    You can set OE not to delete messages from the server until you delete them from deleted items. Might be something to consider for the future.

    Thank's for the replay , the DBX files r there all of them , the person who uses OE , checkes for new emails , find 185 new emails , suddenly electricity goe's off & computer dies.

    Electricity comes back , turn computer back on & 185 new emails disappear like magic , those emails r also gone from the mail server.

    That's the chain ov events.
