I was having problems with my usb ports, one way or another i erased the drivers for usb 2.0. Now it operates at 1.1 speeds and says high speed devices are plugged into low speed ports...but it IS usb 2.0. How do i update windowsXP to recognize them as 2.0 ports?

Perhaps this ms article will help:
    http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/networking/learnmore/jones_02august05.mspx

Read all of it carefully, particularly the sections entitled, "USB 2.0 Device Driver Support" and "Troubleshooting USB 2.0 Device Drivers" and the sublinks within.

Quote: "Reverted back "? Device manager showing any problems? Did you do a system restore or something similar? What happens if you click on this these devices and click on the "update" button? If windows had the 2.o drivers they must still be on the hardrive somewhere.

As a sidenote, did you try searching our archives of past posts? There may be past posts that can help you on this topic.

    Install motherboard drivers.
    Don't know what it is?
Get Everest Home Edition, and use it identify it.
Or use System Restore, and pick a day before this happened.

slowmx3--As goddez1 has said, the USB2 drivers should still be on the HardDrive (or at least on your WinXP CD). When in Device Manager, do you see USB2 Enhanced Controller in the list? If yes, that should be a USB2 connection. If not, click on any USB Controller you suspect of being USB1, then Properties|Driver tab. This will give you the option to Roll Back Drivers or Update Drivers. (You can do this on any USB2 Controller entry as well, if you really feel you have uninstalled the USB2 drivers.)
