    sutsujsti,

Have you made Firefox your default browser? If not, this is why IE opens.

I don't see the option anywhere for "page select ", so maybe I'm missing the whole point here. But for me, when I'm in FF and I click on File | Send Link, Thunderbird (my default email program) opens up with the link in a new email. Same thing if I right-click on any webpage, and then click on "Send Link ".
(When I used to use Outlook Express, any links in those emails would always open up in IE.)

Rebecca, I think it probably should read "...right click on page, select 'send link'... ". (In other words, a comma is out of place.)

Sutsujsti, I have to ask ... do you actually mean OE (Outlook Express) when you say IE (Internet Explorer)? I can't think of any reason why IE should open when you do what you say you're doing.

Browser links are sent in email messages, not in browser windows. When you right-click on a page (or a link) and select "Send Link..." your default email program's composition window should open. If you use Thunderbird, as Rebecca, Ramona, and I do, a Thunderbird window should open. If you use OE, as I suspect you do, an OE window should open. In either case, the link should be in it.

Hi JSS3rd I use Mozilla 1.7.8 for email and for my browser! and it is set as my default email client. I have never used OE! and I think what its doing is its trying to take me to my hotmail account, because when I right click on a page and select send link IE opens and it is asking for my password for my hotmail account. some times it has (the page can't be displayed) in the IE browser window. Now this is what happens when I have FF. open and click on tools,Read mail, Mozilla opens and I can read all of my email or send email!

    Hi sutsujsti,

Thanks for the clarification. All I can think of is to open IE and look at Tools > Internet Options > Programs tab. What does it show in the "Email:" window? If something other than Mozilla 1.7.8, can you change it to that?

You're welcome, and thanks for posting back. Glad to hear you solved your problem.

I noticed in another thread that you're considering Thunderbird for email, and I can't recommend it highly enough.

About opening email from Firefox. You should have a "mail envelope" icon on your toolbar which will do the same thing as the selections on the Tools menu. If it's not visible, right-click anywhere on the toolbar/menubar (except in the address window) and select "Customize ". Then you can drag things onto and off your toolbar/menubar, and arrange it any way you want (except that you can't rearrange the menus). See my screenshot for an example of what you can do (if you want to, of course :)).
