One of my servers suddenly "lost" its MMC. Cannot even use event viewer. All was fine, and I used "Add and Remove Programs" to successfully remove an application. After that, I was unable to access any MMC. I don't believe there is a virus, as this server is used only for SQL Server. There are no shared directories or printers. Is there any way to restore the MMC without re-installing the OS?

I solved the problem. I was running Navision Attain (a Microsoft product). I removed the Navision client using Microsoft's Add/Remove Programs. This process left the system in a state of limbo. This was Microsoft's fault. There is a MS KB article on this subject. It just took, as usual, too much time to find the KB article. Do not buy Microsoft applications!
