I'm running Microsoft Office 200 Professional on Win98-SE.

I'm working on a database for a friend who wants to market the finished product. The end users may not have Access, so I thought I'd investigate whether it is possible to convert an Access database into a stand-alone *.exe application.

When I ask clippy about this, it losely refers to a "Developer" package. I can't find this part anywhere - is it a specialist version of Access I don't have or a function that I just haven't (so far) been able to find?

    MSDK for ACCESS

Try looking for it in the Microsoft Software Developer's Kit for Access - probably via www.microsoft.com - search for ACCESS.

Office 'Developer' is the next step up from 'Professional'. It includes extra tools that would be needed for developing and distributing applications. Of course it is more expensive than Professional. IMHO... Access may not be the best choice if you want to 'market' this application. You may want to seek alternatives. Database programs come in many different flavors and are generally not compatible with each other.
