I have an old NVIDIA GeForce2 MX - 32MB AGP video card. I recently purchased a new 19" LCD monitor. Everything looks ok. I was wondering, if I upgraded to a 128MB AGP Video Card, would I see a difference on my new LCD monitor?

Unless you are an avid gamer the answer is basically no. Your current 32mb card should be giving you 32 bit colour if you want it - if it doesn't and you feel that you want 32 bit colour then change the card.

An up to date card with current drivers is likely to show a difference in graphics intensive applications such as games, particularly in terms of 3D performance, but not, IMO, in graphics aplications like Photoshop.

Thanks PeteC. I'm not a gamer. I use my computer mainly for the Internet and some Photoshop adjusting of pictures.

The ball's in your court :)

FWIW - I currently use a Matrox G550 32 MB dual head card on my desktop running 22" and 17" monitors and am quite happy with the performance on general apps and Photoshop CS.

Since you put it that way, I may as well just save my money. :)

Ace, if you're not a gamer than realistically, you'll get no benefit from the new video card. And if you were a gamer, we'd have to advise you not to get that card anyway as the whole GeForce FX line was not one of Nvidia's best product lines.

When I built systems for non-gamers year ago, I too would lean toward Matrox for excellent video quality.
