I made a mess! My pc had a windows 2000. I bought an windows xp cd and tryed to install it by myself. I choose to erase all the old data to install it, and now when I reboot my pc doesn't work anymore.
Is there anything I can do to instal windows xp?

I'm sorry about your mishap but something obviously went wrong with the install. I would suggest giving it another go but doing a little homework first. The following link will give you a good outline of the procedure and what to expect.

:D You'll need to watch me closely to keep me honest.

I think she may have attempted an XP install from within Win2k. No way that's gonna work. The clean install instruction should get her going the right direction. Several boot methods are offered but she should do the cd-rom install disk method if at all possible. May need to change boot order on BIOS but I think that's covered in that outline.

    All the best.

    install xp failed

    Hi ! are you ok?
Well I followed the above procedure and I am sure the program is there on my pc, 'cause even when I turn off and turn on again my monitor it seems a disturbed TV, I can see some colors and also the Explore icon there. Maybe my pc doesn't support the XP? wow.I canceled the 2000 and the xp doesn't work...lol
    Thanks for helping me

It sounds like you have a video adapter or monitor problem. But first check that you meet these other minimum requirements:

If so, then boot to Safe Mode (immediately press the F8 key when the first screen [POST] fades) and you'll get the option menu to select Safe Mode.

If it boots into a Safe Mode Windows session, check in Device manager for any conflicts in hardware, especially the Display Adapter. To get there, right click My Computer > Properties > Hardware tab > Device Manager button. You may need to visit the web site of your MOBO or video card manufacturer to get the proper drivers for the system.

    problems installing xp

:( nothing...I tryed again. I made as you told me and there was no conflict except the audio drive. In security mode everything was there, installed, but in normal way monitor still looks like a broken tv. I think is really a monitor problem. so the only way is to buy another monitor...humm,, maybe I will take the computer to a technic....Before I burn it!!
Thank you anyway. You are very kind.

Thanks for the feedback Helena. I'm sorry we couldn't get it resolved but some problems can require a hands on approach. I would suggest having it checked by a bench tech before anything else.

    All the best.
