I thought I had a box on Firefox for entering a URL, but it either disappeared or I am beginning to have some type of dementia. Right now the top of my browser has File, Edit, View, etc, the next line has Firefox Help, FF Support and some folders and bookmarks I created. Shouldn't there be a box for entering a URL?
Incidentally, I did move the Google box to the top line on the right side based on some suggestions in this forum. I don't even remember how I did that.

OK, just figured it out. Somehow the Navigation toolbar got unchecked when I right clicked on the toolbar. Everything seems back to normal. Sorry for false alarm.

I happens, if you do something too close to the edge. Interestingly, I have the Walnut theme with firefox1.03, You can't do it with this theme. But, there is another thing that I can't do with this theme. With the standard theme, select View|Customize, and you should be able to drag any icons to the Menu(Top) bar. My Theme does not want to do it. I don't know about the Google bar, but is it not a separate toolbar? Or do you mean the Search box.
Anyway, I know how ro remove it, from the localstore.rdf file of the profile, but don't know how to place it somewhere else.

To refresh your memory, simply right-click anywhere in the menubar or toolbar, except in the address or search windows, and select Customize from the context menu.

Then, you can position the various elements pretty much anywhere you want ... you can put the address window all the way to the left, or even on the menubar, should you choose. My arrangement is shown in the attached screenshot.

Edit: I initially uploaded the wrong screenshot.
