 I am running win98 se and I am trying to reformat and reinstall due to a crash. What option do I want in fdisk? I am not sure if I should have a single large partion or multipule partitions. Then do I need to Delete my partition? That brings me to Did I have a partition? All I do on my PC is play games and surf the net.
Thanks for your help and time,

    Wrench,

    1. You only need to use Fdisk if you are restructuring your hard drive (repartitioning), changing operating systems (file allocation table), new hard drive or other such thing. If you have 1 partition now, keep it.

    2. To format the drive, you need to boot up the PC off a system floppy disk. Go to Start, Settings, Control Panel, Add/Remove programs, then choose the Startup disk tab and make a boot floppy. Once you have the boot floppy, you can now boot off the floppy, type format C: and follow the instructions, then once you finish formatting, you are ready to install Win98SE. Run Setup at the A prompt to start installing Windows.
