I will try to keep it short. This is my second Lexar Jump Drive 128MB as the first was traded in thinking it was defective. I plug in to a USB slot and XP tells me that it recognizes it and that it is ready for use. However, no icon shows up in My Computer or in Windows Explorer for the removeable drive. Device Manager list it just fine and lists as working. To add to the puzzle I plugged it into an old HP with Win98fe and it is recognized and the icons do show up as I would expect. Is there something with my XP machine preventing the icon from showing? Sounds like that to me. TIA. :(

Ok, I'll reply to my own post. The problem has been solved thanks to a mention of Tweakui from a friend. I checked drives in Tweak and it showed that J, my supposed removeable drive, was not checked. I checked it and Lo and Behold the removeable flash drive now shows up in "My Computer "! I do not know why Tweakui showed that and XP did not know that but, whatever, my problem is now - not a problem. Hopes this helps someone else...............
